Frog Hollow Park

I cannot understand why, when two subjects that appear to be high on the Gunner Government's priority list, destroying the ambiance of this cool green historic inner city space continues to move forward,
This hidden gem of a park, with its old trees and historic buildings could be built into a beautiful sculpture park and be the starting point of the proposed $100 'Million Dollar Art Trail. The first school in Darwin could be, with very little work or cost, a variety of buildings featuring the background of the major groups who settled in,the NT. The Afghans, the Chinese, the British, the Italians and the Greeks. There could be an area devoted to the first aboriginal children who received schooling. There could also be artists workshops, where artists of all genres could paint ,sculpt, weave, print etc and sell, their creations. There could be some school rooms set up, both old style and new so our Territorians students could go in for a school session of living history. This would also be an excellent facility for visiting school groups that I am sure will come from China as well as Japan, Korea and SE Asia.
Please rethink destroying this gem of a place by dividing it in two with a four lane highway! The cooling effect on the Cavenagh Street River of Fire will be lost forever and Cavenagh will become hotter than ever with more traffic and no nearby trees.
Is a forty million short term jobs boost really worth the destruction of what should be a wonderful Central Art and Sculpture Park for the long term future of Darwin? Can't the money and the jobs be utilised on other projects around the city?
Please hear our plea and stop this vandalism before it starts.
